Nemoria splendidaria (Grossbeck, 1910).
Nemoria splendidaria is a striking species, found chiefly in Mexico, but also collected at least twice in southern Arizona near the Huachucas. The unusual pattern of the broad white lines (especially the am line of the forewing), wide pink costa and the wide bright red wing margin are unlike any other North American Nemoria. In Mexico, the species has been most often collected at elevations above 7000 feet. Ferguson (1985) includes a sketch of the male genitalia and notes that they are quite unspecialized, lacking in any distinctive features to suggest a clear alliance with other southwestern species.
