Nemoria outina Ferguson, 1969. [7032]
N. outina is a small Florida / Alabama species with strong black discal spots, faint white striations on the green wings, a distinct red terminal line and yellow fringes. The abdomen is unmarked. It appears to be a specialist, feeding exclusively on Ceratiola ericoides [Empetraceae]. Canfield has investigated plasticity in the phenotypes of the larvae, which show two very distinctive and dissimilar color forms. For images of larval forms click here.
